Pro relay fallback: up to 120 listener-minutes per license per UTC calendar month, shared across listeners; at most 30 minutes per session from first fallback. Allowance is reserved in 30-second blocks; short or interrupted connections can use a full block. Direct connections do not use the allowance. Shared relay capacity may be unavailable sooner; availability is not reserved. Some networks block direct connections, so internet connection is not guaranteed. Free requires the same local network. Browser playback adds buffering and network delay.

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know.

What does RysUpStream do?
It sends live stereo audio from your DAW to a browser listening page. Put it last on your master bus to check the current mix on your phone or share playback with other listeners.
What is included for free?
Local-network streaming to up to 32 listeners, a QR code and listening link, 16-bit or 24-bit PCM, stream gain and stream mute. There is no imposed local-session duration cap, and listeners do not need an account or an app.
How does RysUpStream Pro work?
Pro adds one active internet stream with up to 10 browser listeners. It tries a direct peer-to-peer connection first, with limited relay fallback when direct connection fails. Pro is included with an active RysUpSuite subscription; there is no separate Pro purchase. Each online session lasts up to four hours and can end sooner if your Suite authorization expires. Direct connection depends on the networks at both ends.
How much relay fallback is included?
Relay fallback allows up to 120 listener-minutes per license per UTC calendar month, shared across all listeners, and at most 30 minutes per session from its first relay connection. One listener using the relay for 10 minutes uses 10 listener-minutes; two listeners for 10 minutes use 20. Relay allowance is reserved in 30-second blocks; short or interrupted connections can use a full block. Direct connections do not use this allowance. Relay capacity is shared and may be unavailable sooner, so the allowance does not reserve relay availability. When fallback is unavailable, a direct connection is required.
What is Opus, and can I still use PCM?
Opus compresses audio to reduce internet bandwidth. Pro uses it by default for online listening; it is lossy, so it does not transmit every original sample unchanged. You can choose uncompressed 16-bit or 24-bit PCM instead, which needs more bandwidth. Free local streaming continues to use PCM. Codec and stream controls leave your DAW output unchanged.
Will internet streaming work on every network?
No. Some routers, firewalls and mobile networks block direct connections. Pro can try the relay within its usage and capacity limits, but a connection is not guaranteed. The producer needs enough upload bandwidth for the selected audio quality and number of direct listeners. Try the actual networks and browser before relying on a remote listening session.
Do my listeners need to buy or install anything?
No. They open the listening link in a compatible browser and tap Listen. Free listeners must be on the same local network as your studio computer. Pro listeners can join over the internet.
Can I listen with the page in the background or the screen locked?
Keep the browser listening page open. Background and screen-lock playback have not been verified for this release and are not guaranteed. Your browser or device policy may pause audio when you leave the page or lock the screen.
Does it change my master output?
No. RysUpStream passes your DAW audio through unchanged. The stream gain and mute controls affect the transmitted audio only.
Can I record through it or use it for video calls?
RysUpStream is a one-way mix-listening tool. It does not send talkback, video, remote recording or MIDI. Network and browser buffering add delay, so it is for listening rather than tracking in time.
Who can open my listening link?
Anyone with the link who can reach the stream can listen. Share links only with the people you want to invite, and stop the stream when you are finished. Pro tries an encrypted direct connection first and uses the relay only for fallback within its limits. Direct peers can see each other’s internet addresses. Local streams stay on your local network.
Which systems are supported?
Available builds are AU, VST3 and AAX for macOS 11 or later on Intel and Apple Silicon, and VST3 and AAX for Windows 10 or later on x64. Listening happens in a compatible browser. Actual listener capacity depends on your network, selected audio quality and listener connections.
