How does RysUpKey detect the key?
It analyzes the harmonic content of your audio in real time, scores all 24 major and minor keys, corrects for the song’s tuning, and locks onto the key once it holds steady. It also reports two alternate keys when a track sits between relatives.
How does it send the key to RysUpTune?
Hit "Send Key to RysUpTune" (or enable Auto Send) and RysUpKey transmits the detected root, scale, and tuning reference straight into any open RysUpTune instance, so your pitch correction is always in the right key.
Can it analyze an audio file instead of live playback?
Yes. Switch to "Use File" mode and drop in any audio file for an offline whole-file deep scan — something Waves Key Detector doesn’t offer.
What formats and systems are supported?
RysUpKey ships as AU, VST3, and AAX on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), plus VST3 and AAX on Windows 64-bit. It installs and activates through the free RysUpHub app.
