Can RysUpShift pitch-shift vocals without making them sound like chipmunks?
Yes. Independent pitch and formant controls mean you can shift pitch up or down while keeping the formant — the vocal character — natural. Shift a vocal up a 4th with formant untouched and it still sounds like a human voice, not a chipmunk.
What's the maximum pitch-shift range?
±12 semitones (one full octave each direction) with full formant independence. Beyond that the artifacts become noticeable. For extreme octaver effects on bass or synth, the top of the range still tracks cleanly thanks to the high-quality shifting engine.
Can I use RysUpShift for creating harmonies?
Yes. Use MIDI input mode and it'll shift the vocal to the pitch of each incoming MIDI note. Run multiple instances with different intervals (a 3rd above, a 5th below) and you have a full harmony stack from a single lead vocal — same workflow as Little AlterBoy or a basic harmonizer.
Does RysUpShift affect gender / voice character?
Yes, via the formant knob. Push formant up for a more feminine/brighter character, pull it down for a darker/more masculine tone. Pitch stays the same — only the voice character changes. Great for gender-swapping BGVs, creating "vocal doubles," or subtle character tweaks.
Will RysUpShift work in my DAW?
Yes. RysUpShift ships as AU, VST3, and AAX for macOS (Universal — Intel + Apple Silicon) and Windows 64-bit. That covers Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Studio One, Cubase, Reaper, GarageBand, Bitwig Studio, and every other major DAW.

Yes — and we back it with our 30-day fix-it guarantee. Hit a bug? Want a feature added? Email support and we get on it. If we don't ship the fix or feature within 30 days, you're entitled to a full refund, no questions asked. In practice we usually ship within the week — but the guarantee is yours either way.
