A learned alignment model
A HuBERT-base encoder with a Rys Up Audio alignment head times every vocal frame by frame. Pitch-aware matching keeps note changes on unison doubles tight, and octave and harmony stacks are analysed without transposing them.

Capture once. It aligns itself.
Capture records only while the transport plays. There is no Align button: new audio, a new guide or any change re-aligns the stack automatically. ARA integration remains host and version specific; Capture is the fallback.

Capture playback stays inside each track insert until you use Bounce in Place or the DAW print workflow. The source regions are never silently overwritten.

What does RysUpAlign align?
Doubles, backing vocals, harmonies and vocal stacks against a guide. Put RysUpAlign on each participating vocal and capture the played range together; the stack aligns automatically. Star any vocal to make it the guide for its section, and the other vocals follow the right guide on their own. Timing, Pitch, Vibrato and Level are set per vocal, with master values on the guide row.
How does it get audio from my DAW?
Capture records the range that plays through each participating insert and places the tracks on a shared DAW timeline. The same plugin uses ARA when the host actually binds it, and Capture otherwise. ARA support is host and version specific; a format being available does not guarantee ARA in every DAW.
Why does Logic show Capture instead of ARA on Apple Silicon?
Logic does not always bind the ARA extension, and Apple documents Rosetta requirements for third-party ARA on Apple Silicon. Do not assume ARA from the AU format alone. Use Capture in native Logic: press capture, play the exact range once with input monitoring off, then stop. Alignment starts by itself.
Does Capture record the whole track automatically?
No. Capture records only while the DAW transport is playing. Play the exact verse, hook or full-song range you want to align. The interface shows each connected vocal while it captures, then aligns the stack as soon as you stop. New audio re-aligns automatically.
Can it preserve harmonies and consonants?
Yes, always. The engine keeps harmony intervals instead of dragging every backing vocal onto the lead melody, and it protects consonants around sharp vocal attacks. Octave and harmony stacks are no longer transposed for analysis. To leave a phrase untouched, right-click it and protect it on every vocal or skip it on one.
What can I set per vocal?
Timing and Pitch set how closely each vocal follows the guide. Vibrato lets it follow the guide movement and Level matches the guide envelope; both start at 0 percent. The guide row holds the master values. Formant, Transpose and the old alignment switches were retired in 2.1.0.
Can I edit just one phrase without changing the whole stack?
Yes. Right-click the phrase on its vocal lane and choose Give this phrase its own settings. You can also sync a single note to the guide, skip a phrase on that vocal, or protect a phrase on every vocal. Clear phrase overrides returns it to the vocal settings.
How does the RysUpPitch guide link work?
In RysUpPitch 1.1.0 or later, enable Link guide to Align in Export. In RysUpAlign, open the Links side panel and select that published vocal. The link uses the actual locally rendered edited audio, not just a note display. New published edits refresh the guide and the stack re-aligns. Both plugins must be installed on the same computer; no audio is uploaded.
Does it replace my DAW regions?
No. Capture mode plays the accepted alignment through each track insert without changing the source regions. Use Bounce in Place or your DAW's print workflow when you want permanent replacement regions.
