How is RysUpSmooth different from a regular dynamic EQ?
A dynamic EQ acts on bands YOU choose. RysUpSmooth listens to the signal and automatically dips the loudest resonances in real time — no setup, no tuning. Think of it as an automatic resonance suppressor that adapts as the signal changes.
Is RysUpSmooth a Soothe2 clone?
Same category — resonance suppression — and similar workflow, but with our own DSP. Where Soothe2 runs $219 with no subscription, RysUpSmooth does the same job for $50 or as part of the $9.99/mo Suite. Same kind of transparent harsh-taming result.
Where should I use RysUpSmooth in my mix chain?
On harsh-sounding sources: vocals with resonances around 2–4 kHz, bright acoustic guitars, room-heavy drum overheads, resonant synths. Place it after your EQ so it smooths what's left over. On vocals, put it before the de-esser so the de-esser sees a smoother signal.
Does RysUpSmooth have a manual mode for targeted frequencies?
Yes. Drag manual notches onto the spectrum to force suppression at specific frequencies, while the automatic engine handles everything else. Best of both worlds — automatic smoothing plus surgical control over the problem frequencies you already know about.
