An automatic gain control, pitch detector or moving EQ curve does not by itself establish that a product uses a trained model. Look for a specific vendor description of the technology and judge the audible result on your own recording.

Waves describes Clarity Vx as a neural-network noise-reduction plugin. It is a paid option for reducing background noise in voice recordings; it is not a replacement for every kind of audio repair.

What it does: Neural-network noise reduction controlled inside the plugin. Choose the appropriate network and processing amount, then check that wanted vocal detail remains.

Why it's different from a gate: A noise gate cuts audio below a volume threshold. Clarity Vx identifies the noise spectrally and removes it even when the vocal and noise are at the same volume — which is exactly what happens with room hiss under a sustained note.
