Do I need any JS effects or third-party plugins?
No — every chain is built entirely on the ReaPlugs (ReaEQ, ReaComp, ReaGate, ReaVerb, ReaDelay, ReaPitch). Zero external dependencies.
How do I install a .RfxChain file?
Drag the file onto any track in Reaper. The FX chain window pops up with every plugin loaded. You can also save it to your Reaper FX chain folder (accessible via the FX + button → Save FX chain) for permanent access.
Which Reaper versions are compatible?
Reaper 5, 6, and 7. Mac (Intel + Apple Silicon), Windows, and Linux.
Does this work on Linux Reaper?
Yes — ReaPlugs are native to Linux Reaper, so every chain loads identically on Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, or whichever distro you’re running.
Will these work on an older Reaper install?
Reaper 5 or later is our officially supported floor. Earlier Reaper versions had a different FX chain format; we don’t guarantee compatibility.
Can I tweak every plugin parameter?
Absolutely. Every plugin in the chain is fully exposed — no wrappers, no macro hiding. Open the FX chain window and you see every ReaEQ band, every ReaComp threshold, and can modify anything.
Will these chains bog down my CPU on older hardware?
No — ReaPlugs are known for being lightweight. A full chain typically uses less CPU than a single third-party EQ plugin. Runs fine on ten-year-old laptops.
