It also lists at $149, and on September 17, 2026 it happened to be $39.99 because Waves was running a limited time sale. That is the whole story of shopping Waves: the price depends on the day you look.

What CLA Epic does
CLA Epic is a reverb and delay suite built with Chris Lord-Alge. Waves lists four delay types, Tape, Slap, Crowd and Throw, and four reverb types, Plate, Room, Hall and a non linear Space reverb. Each module sits on its own fader, and any delay can feed any number of the reverbs with one click.
Waves says the modules are based on hardware from CLA's own studio. It ships with more than 350 presets from CLA, Greg Wells, Michael Brauer and other engineers, and it syncs to host tempo. It runs as AU, VST3 and AAX on Mac and Windows.
Ownership works the Waves way. A perpetual purchase includes one year of the Waves Update Plan. Waves says the plugin stays yours after that, but new updates and the second license need a renewed plan.
The honest price picture
On a sale day CLA Epic costs less than RysUpAtmosphere. We are not going to hide that. At its $149 list price it costs almost three times as much. Waves pricing swings between those two numbers constantly, and the product page also pushes Waves subscription plans that start at $14.99 a month.
RysUpAtmosphere is $49.99 on Monday, $49.99 on Friday and $49.99 during every sale you did not hear about. Or skip buying single plugins entirely: RysUpSuite is $9.99 a month billed yearly and includes Atmosphere with the rest of the Rys Up lineup.

CLA Epic has more presets and a deeper send matrix between its modules. Atmosphere has far more reverb and delay types, ducking with a curve, per engine low and high cut, and a decay range that runs all the way to 75 seconds. Those are different design choices, and the table shows both honestly.

A vocal starting point in Atmosphere
These are starting points to audition, not magic numbers. Loop a full verse and a chorus, not one word.
- Pick a short reverb type and set decay around 1.2 to 2 seconds for a lead vocal. Save the long decays for throws and pads.
- Sync predelay to a sixteenth note so the dry consonants land before the tail blooms.
- Set the delay to a tempo synced eighth or dotted eighth. Keep feedback low so repeats die before the next line.
- Low cut both engines so the effect is not stacking low end under the vocal. Pull the high cut down if the repeats sound sharp.
- Bring in ducking until the tail backs off while the singer is singing, then set the curve so it returns smoothly in the gaps.
- Balance reverb against delay, then turn on mix lock while you browse the 231 presets so your blend does not jump around.

Questions producers ask
Does Atmosphere include CLA's hardware based modules? No. It has its own 24 reverb types, 24 delay types, controls and 231 presets.
Does Atmosphere need an iLok? No. It installs and activates through RysUpHub on Mac and Windows.
Can I send the delay into the reverb like CLA Epic? Atmosphere runs its two engines together with a level balance between them. It does not have CLA Epic's delay to reverb send matrix.
What happens to my license later? The $49.99 purchase is an own forever license. If you are on RysUpSuite, Atmosphere stays available while your Suite is active.
