Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Download and unzip your vocal preset pack from your Rys Up Audio account.
  2. Open FL Studio and create a new project.
  3. Open the Mixer by pressing F9.
  4. Select a mixer track (Insert 1 or any empty insert).
  5. Route your vocal recording to this mixer track by selecting the track in the Channel Rack and setting the mixer destination.
  6. Load the preset: Click the small arrow/menu button at the top of the mixer insert and navigate to Load mixer track state (or Track preset depending on your FL version). Browse to your downloaded preset file and load it.
  7. Set pitch correction — FL Studio includes Pitcher (in Producer/Signature editions) or NewTone for pitch correction. Set it to the key of your song.

Important Notes

  • If you are using Waves plugins, click here for the Waves-specific installation guide.
  • Make sure you're on FL Studio Producer Edition or higher — the Fruity Edition doesn't support audio recording or mixer track presets.
  • If using Rys Up Audio's free plugin presets, check out our free plugins installation guide.

Adjusting the Preset to Your Voice

  • Gain staging: Record your vocals at a healthy level (peaking around -12dB to -6dB on the mixer track).
  • EQ: Open the Parametric EQ 2 plugin in the chain to adjust your vocal tone. Cut low frequencies below 80Hz to remove rumble.
  • Compression: Adjust the Fruity Compressor or Maximus threshold to match your vocal dynamics.
  • De-esser: If sibilance is too harsh, adjust the de-esser band frequency (usually 5kHz-8kHz range).
  • Reverb/Delay: These are typically on separate send tracks. Adjust the send knobs on your vocal track to control wet/dry mix.

Troubleshooting

  • Preset file not loading: Make sure you're using "Load mixer track state" (not "Load mixer state" which loads the entire mixer).
  • Plugins missing or grayed out: Some presets use third-party plugins. If a plugin isn't installed, FL Studio will skip it. Install the missing plugin and reload the preset.
  • No sound when recording: Check that your audio interface is set up in Options > Audio Settings, and your microphone input is assigned to the mixer track.
  • Latency issues: Enable ASIO mode in audio settings and reduce your buffer size for lower latency during recording.
