How to Install Vocal Presets Using Free Plugins

This guide covers how to install Rys Up Audio vocal presets that use free, third-party plugins. These presets work in any DAW — Reaper, Pro Tools, Cakewalk, FL Studio, Ableton, and more — using StudioRack/StudioVerse and a collection of high-quality free plugins.

Before installing the preset, download and install these free plugins:

  • TDR Nova (dynamic EQ): Download
  • TDR Kotelnikov (compressor): Download
  • TAL Chorus LX (chorus effect): Download
  • Valhalla SuperMassive (reverb/delay): Download

Installation Steps

  1. Install all the plugins listed above.
  2. RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. This is critical — plugins won't show up in StudioVerse until after a full restart.
  3. Open your DAW and create a new stereo audio track.
  4. Insert StudioVerse (StudioRack) as a plugin on the track.
  5. Load the preset: Click "Full Reset" in StudioVerse, then "Load" from the dropdown menu, and browse to your .xps preset file.

Important Troubleshooting Tips

  • You MUST restart your computer after installing the plugins, otherwise they won't show up in StudioRack or appear greyed out.
  • Plugins still not showing after restart: Click the 3 lines in the top right of StudioRack > VST3 > Scan Plugins.
  • Some plugins greyed out: This is usually due to not loading the stereo version of StudioRack. Make sure to create a stereo audio track instead of mono when applying the presets and loading plugins.
  • Individual plugins still missing: Reinstall the specific plugin that isn't showing up, then restart your computer again.
  • Wrong "Load" button: If the .xps file is greyed out, you clicked the wrong button. Click where it says "Full Reset" first — the dropdown there has the correct "Load" option.
