Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose Stabilize or Tighten?
Stabilize is the default for live recordings. It smooths tempo drift over several beats while retaining more of the original swing and small timing variations. Tighten moves every beat marker onto an evenly spaced grid. Choose Tighten when exact beat placement matters more than preserving the original groove.
Can I fix an incorrect beat marker?
Yes. Open Review beats, zoom in, and select a marker to drag it or enter its time in seconds. Add a missing beat, delete an extra one, or reset to the detected grid. You can also move markers with the arrow keys. Editing a marker clears the old export so the next render uses your corrected timing.
What do the suggested review spots mean?
Amber sections have weaker beat support or unusual spacing. They are suggestions to check, not proof of a mistake. Select a section to hear a short original-audio preview with a click, then adjust the markers if needed.
What does High-quality render change?
High-quality render uses more overlapping analysis frames and preserves short supported attacks in both channels together. It takes longer and can help percussive material. It is still time stretching, so compare the result with the original before using it.
How do I make a recording stay at one BPM?
Import your instrumental or live recording, review the suggested BPM, enter the tempo you want, and quantize it. Compare the original and corrected versions before downloading a WAV for your DAW.
How is tempo stabilization different from changing audio speed?
A speed changer applies one speed across the whole recording. A tempo stabilizer detects beat positions and changes the timing between them so gradual tempo drift can follow a steady beat grid.
Why might the suggested BPM be half or double the tempo?
Some rhythms make the main beat ambiguous: a 120 BPM performance can also feel like 60 BPM. Use the half-time or double-time option, listen to the click, and choose the pulse that follows the music before quantizing.
Will every recording quantize perfectly?
No. Clear drums or a strong rhythmic pulse give the detector the best starting point. Quiet intros, syncopation, rubato, and sparse recordings can produce incorrect beat positions. Timing correction can also change transients or introduce audible artifacts, so preview the result before using it.
Does the tempo stabilizer upload or store my audio?
No audio upload is required. Analysis, tempo correction, preview, and WAV creation run locally in your browser. You can use the tool without creating an account.
Is this tool really free?
Yes — every Rys Up Audio tool is 100% free, with no signup, watermark, or paid credits. File-size and shared-worker limits are stated inside tools that use uploads or public AI services.
Do you upload my audio to a server?
Most tools process audio entirely in your browser via the Web Audio API. AI-powered stem splitting and vocal removal upload audio to third-party public workers, so you should not submit private or sensitive recordings.
What audio formats are supported?
Every tool accepts MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, and OGG up to 50 MB per file. Most exports are 16-bit WAV; the high-quality vocal separator returns 320 kbps MP3.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes — every tool is responsive and works in iOS Safari and Android Chrome. Some tools (like the virtual piano) are optimized for multi-touch.

Best for recordings with a clear, regular pulse and small tempo drift. Fills, pauses, swing and intentional tempo changes can confuse the tracker. Preview the result: timing correction can change the feel and introduce stretching artifacts.
