Rys Up Audio REAPER vocal presets are REAPER FX chain files (.RfxChain). Each one loads a complete vocal chain onto a track: EQ, compression, de-essing, delay, reverb, and effects, already set up.
No third-party plugins are needed. Every chain uses only the plugins that come with REAPER (ReaEQ, ReaComp, ReaXcomp, ReaDelay, ReaVerbate and REAPER's built-in JS effects). You do not need Waves, StudioRack, or any free plugin downloads.
Unzip it. You will see .RfxChain files. Pack downloads such as Vocal Drip 2 put them in Lead Vocal Presets and Bonus Vocal Presets folders.
Option A: Load a chain onto a track
This is the quickest way to try one preset.
Open REAPER and create or select a stereo audio track for your vocal.
Click the track's FX button to open the track's FX chain window. If the Add FX browser opens first, close it so you are looking at the empty FX chain.
Open the FX menu at the top of that window, or right-click in the empty FX list, and choose Load FX chain…
Browse to the unzipped folder and pick the .RfxChain file. The whole vocal chain appears in the track's FX list.
You can also drag a .RfxChain file from Finder or File Explorer straight onto a track in REAPER.
Option B: Install every chain into REAPER's FX Chains folder
Do this once and every preset shows up inside REAPER, ready to add to any track.
In REAPER, choose Options > Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder.
Open the FXChains folder in the window that appears. If it does not exist yet, create a folder named FXChains there.
Copy the unzipped .RfxChain files (or the whole preset folder) into FXChains. A subfolder such as FXChains/Rys Up Audio/Vocal Drip 2 keeps them organized.
Back in REAPER, open a track's FX window and click Add. In the Add FX browser, open FX Chains in the left-hand list. Your presets are listed there. Double-click one to load it. If they are not listed yet, close the Add FX window and reopen it, or restart REAPER.
Adding pitch correction
The chains ship with pitch correction turned off, so you decide how much tuning to use. To add it, put REAPER's stock ReaTune (or your own pitch corrector) as the first plugin in the chain and set it to the key of your song.
Adjusting the preset to your voice
Input level: record so the track peaks around -18 dB to -12 dB. The chain is tuned for that level.
EQ: open ReaEQ in the chain and make small changes to suit your voice.
Compression: if the vocal sounds too squashed or too loose, adjust the ReaComp threshold.
Effects: lower or raise the delay and reverb mix to taste.
Troubleshooting
The file is greyed out or will not open in "Load FX chain…": make sure you unzipped the download first and are choosing the .RfxChain file, not the .zip.
Presets are missing from the FX Chains list: check that the files are inside the FXChains folder that REAPER opened from the Options menu, then restart REAPER.
The chain sounds thin or one-sided: use a stereo track. The chains include stereo delay and reverb.
