How to Install Vocal Presets in Fender Studio Pro / Studio One

Fender Studio Pro 8 is the new Fender-branded version of Studio One Pro. The name and folder structure changed, but Rys Up Audio .multipreset FX Chain files still work the same way. You can still drag and drop the files directly onto a vocal track or insert slot.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. If you are using Waves plugins, click here for the Waves-specific guide.
  2. Download and unzip your vocal preset pack from your Rys Up Audio account.
  3. Fender Studio Pro 8 users: move the .multipreset file or preset folder to the new Fender FX Chains folder:
  • Windows: C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\StudioPro_UserData\Presets\Fender\FX Chains\
  • Mac: ~/Documents/StudioPro_UserData/Presets/Fender/FX Chains/

If the FX Chains folder is not there yet, create it manually. If you upgraded from an older Studio One install and kept your original user data folder, the root folder may still be named Studio One instead of StudioPro_UserData. In that case, use the same new Fender subfolder rule: Presets/Fender/FX Chains/.

Legacy Studio One 4-7 Location

If you are still using Studio One before the Fender Studio Pro 8 rebrand, use the legacy PreSonus FX Chains folder:

  • Windows: C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Studio One\Presets\PreSonus\FX Chains\
  • Mac: ~/Documents/Studio One/Presets/PreSonus/FX Chains/

Loading the Preset

  1. Open Fender Studio Pro or Studio One and create a new Audio Track.
  2. Drag the .multipreset file directly onto your vocal track or onto an insert slot. The full FX Chain loads with the tuned EQ, compression, reverb, delay, and other settings.
  3. You can also open View > Inspector, expand Inserts, and choose the preset from the FX Chain browser after it has been placed in the correct folder.

Important Fender Studio Pro 8 Note

Fender Studio Pro 8 currently splits some preset locations. It can still read older presets from the legacy PreSonus folder, while newly saved FX Chains are placed in the new Fender folder. Because of that, dragging an entire folder of presets into the DAW browser may organize them under the old path. For the cleanest setup, place Rys Up Audio presets manually in the Presets/Fender/FX Chains/ folder.

Adding Pitch Correction

Studio One and Fender Studio Pro do not include a stock pitch correction plugin, so our presets do not come with one pre-loaded. We recommend adding a pitch corrector as the first insert on the track.

  • Free option: Download MAutoPitch by MeldaProduction.
  • Premium option: Auto-Tune, Waves Tune, or any VST pitch correction plugin.

Set the pitch correction to the key of the song. If you do not know the key, use a key finder before recording or mixing.

Adjusting the Preset to Your Voice

  • Gain staging: Record at a healthy level, usually around -18 dB to -12 dB on the track meter.
  • Fat Channel: Fat Channel can be used alongside the preset for quick EQ and compression adjustments.
  • EQ: Open the EQ in the preset chain and adjust to suit your voice. Cut low-end rumble below 80 Hz, then make subtle presence boosts around 3-6 kHz if needed.
  • Compression: Adjust the compressor threshold based on your vocal dynamics. Louder singers may need a higher threshold.
  • Effects: Adjust reverb and delay send levels to taste.

Troubleshooting

  • Preset not showing up in Fender Studio Pro 8: make sure the preset is in Documents/StudioPro_UserData/Presets/Fender/FX Chains, or in your upgraded Studio One/Presets/Fender/FX Chains folder if you kept the old root user data folder. Restart the DAW after moving files.
  • Preset not showing up in Studio One 4-7: make sure the preset is in Documents/Studio One/Presets/PreSonus/FX Chains. Restart Studio One after moving files.
  • Folder import looks messy: Fender Studio Pro 8 may place dragged preset folders into the old browser path. Move the files manually into the Fender FX Chains folder for cleaner organization.
  • Inspector panel missing: go to View > Inspector in the top menu bar.
  • Plugins not found: if third-party plugins in a chain are not installed, the DAW will show them as missing. Install the plugins and reload the preset.
  • Audio interface issues: go to the DAW audio setup/preferences and verify your audio device is selected.
