How to Install Master Presets on Logic Pro X & GarageBand
⚡ New — skip every step below with RysUpHub
The free RysUpHub app now installs your presets into Logic Pro automatically:
Download the free RysUpHub and sign in with your store account.
Open My Vocal Presets — everything you've purchased is there.
Hit Install. Done — open Logic Pro and your preset is in the library.
Prefer doing it by hand, or on Windows? The manual steps below still work — and your files are always at your account downloads.
How to Install Master Presets on Logic Pro X & GarageBand
Master presets are applied to the master/output track, not a regular audio track. The process is slightly different from installing vocal presets — follow the steps below carefully.
Place the master presets in this folder: /Users/[username]/Music/Audio Music Apps/Patches/Mix Bus Note: This is the Mix Bus folder, not the Audio folder (which is for vocal presets). If the Mix Bus folder isn't there, then create it yourself.
Open Logic Pro or GarageBand.
In the top left menu bar, click Track > Show Output Track (Logic) or Show Master Track (GarageBand).
Select the Master/Output Track in your project.
Open the Library by clicking the button in the workspace's upper-left corner (or press "Y" on your keyboard).
Navigate to User Patches and select your master preset.
Enjoy!
Video Reference
The video below shows the process for vocal presets, not master presets. The general process is similar, but there are key differences as described in the steps above (Output folder instead of Audio folder, master track instead of audio track).
Troubleshooting
If you are using Waves plugins, click here for the Waves-specific guide.
If you can't find your "Music" folder, click anywhere on your desktop and press Command + Shift + H to bring up your Home folder — the Music folder should be here.
Getting a "too many channels" error on a regular track? Master presets can only be applied to master/output tracks, not regular audio tracks. Follow the steps above to show and select the output track.
