A Mel-Roformer deep learning model analyzes the full audio spectrum and learns which frequencies belong to vocals versus instruments. Unlike classic spectral subtraction (which leaves ringing artifacts), the neural network surgically separates the voice from the backing track and exports both as independent stems.
Will this leave the vocals on the instrumental?
A small amount of vocal bleed is normal on heavily-compressed masters. The Mel-Roformer model used here preserves stereo width and percussive transients better than a classic spectral subtraction.
Can I use the extracted vocals or instrumentals commercially?
